Steelers place Maurkice Pouncey on Reserve/Suspended list

Due to his two-game suspension, the Pittsburgh Steelers were forced to place starting center Maurkice Pouncey on the Reserve-Suspended by Commissioner list on Friday. Pouncey is serving a two-game suspension for his role in the brawl at the end of last Thursday’s game with the Cleveland Browns. This means Pouncey will miss this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Pouncey appealed his original three-game suspension and got it reduced by one game. This will still assure Pouncey is not on the field when the Steelers play the Browns on December 1.

The Steelers replaced Pouncey on the 53-man roster with practice squad center Patrick Morris. B.J. Finney will start at center for the Steelers, which leaves Pittsburgh thin along the interior defensive line.

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett received an indefinite suspension for his part in the fight and Cleveland defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was suspended for one game after he threw a cheap shot at Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph.
