Steelers offense takes a big tumble in ESPN rankings

ESPN writer Bill Barnwell did his annual ranking of all the offensive units in the league and for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the news isn’t great. After ranking No. 4 in 2018 and No. 2 in 2017, Pittsburgh slid all the way to No. 15 in Barnwell’s latest list. You can read the full list here.

Here’s what Barnwell had to say about the Steelers big tumble.

In a way, it’s a credit to the Steelers that they could lose a top-five running back (Le’Veon Bell) and wide receiver (Antonio Brown) in the same offseason and still have something close to a league-average set of weapons.

This is another one of those lists where Bell’s name comes up in context to the 2018 season when he didn’t actually play any football. The Steelers arsenal didn’t include him last season but like so many others, they talk like he was relevant.

Nevertheless, The Steelers do go into an offseason with a significant number of unknowns on offense and figuring out how the team will replace the production of Brown is valid. But the hope is this group comes together quickly, Conner and tight end Vance McDonald can stay healthy all season to quiet all these critics writing off the Steelers before the season gets started.
