Stan Kroenke makes £270m investment as Arsenal transfer bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk rejected

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has added yet another piece of real estate in San Fernando Valley to his portfolio.

The 75-year-old completed the $325million (£270m) purchase earlier this week amid the Gunners' ongoing transfer battle regarding Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. Arsenal's first bid, thought to be in the region of £65million including add-ons, has been rejected.

With Mikel Arteta's side leading the way in the Premier League at present, a recent injury blow to striker Gabriel Jesus has set some supporters' nerves jangling regarding the ongoing title race. Mudryk, 21, has enjoyed an impressive spell with Shakhtar Donetsk this term and his current club is said to be holding out for a fee of around £100million.

Kroenke however is not frightened of snapping up new pieces to add to his already impressive collection of shopping malls, having now captured the 600,000-square-foot mall at 6220-6344 North Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the Commercial Observer reported.

Linked with names such as Youri Tielemans and Joao Felix too this winter, Kroenke's wealth is no secret, with Forbes estimating the US tycoon's net worth to be in the region of $13bn at present. Arsenal spent close to £135million on transfer fees this summer.

As Calciomercato reported earlier this year, the Gunners' budget is thought to be €120million (£105million) for the January window. They also add that Arsenal may look to target Serbian duo Dusan Vlahovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
