Stacey Solomon 'so nervous' ahead of Bake Off The Professionals

Stacey Solomon has told followers that she is nervous in case people 'hate' her after her debut on Bake Off: The Professionals.

The TV presenter is stepping in to host the Channel 4 show for the first time ever, alongside co-host Liam Charles. Together, they will be replacing normal presenter Tom Allen, who had been part of the baking show since 2018.

Tom praised Stacey as he passed the presenting torch on to her, as he wrote on social media. He said: "Stacey Solomon you are going to be absolutely amazing I can't think of anyone better to be doing it! It was my first TV presenting job back in 2018 and it has taught me so much - thanks to the amazing team with whom I've loved working, all the incredible chefs and most of all Benoit, Cherish and of course the brilliant Liam."

But taking to her Instagram Stories today (May 24), Stacey admitted that the nerves were getting the better of her. She begged people to be kind.

Stacey said: Oh my gosh, I just got a message from Bake Off. I completely forget it starts tonight. I'm so nervous because when you're on the telly, people let you know if they hate you."

She giggled nervously as she added: "But, if you're watching it tonight I hope you enjoy it and I'd love to know what you think. Unless of course you think I'm a big horse face who shouldn't be on the telly then in that case don't let me know."

The Loose Women panelist previously said that hosting Bake Off was such a 'cool' job. She said: "I honestly couldn't believe they asked me. I just eat cake all day. It's such a cool job. I love it so much".

Bake Off: The Professionals will air weekly on Tuesdays over on Channel 4 and All 4 from 8pm.
