Stacey Solomon shows reality of mum life after being forced to hit back as she beams over career boost

Stacey Solomon was caught in the realities of life with young children as she tried to excitedly share some career news with her fans. The star took to Instagram to chat about her son's fourth birthday and some news she received about her show Sort Your Life Out.

Speaking in a video on her Instagram Story, Stacey, 33, revealed to fans how she was "emotional" as her son Rex celebrated his birthday. "I don't know why it feels more emotional at four, I think it's because I know this is like his last 'baby' birthday," she shared.

Sat down with baby Belle, three months, who was gurgling and smiling as her mum spoke, went on: "He's going to big school in September. Also, over the last year I feel like he has grown up so much."

However, as she continued to chat away, a little voice was heard in the background and it was Stacey's one-year-old daughter, Rose, who was telling her mum she needed to use the potty. As the mum-of-five informed her followers she was pausing for a toilet break, Belle threw up all over Stacey's hand which forced the star to cut off the video.

After a short while, Stacey then returned and continued talking to her fans. "Right, I've cleaned up the sick and cleaned out the potty, where was I," she joked. After sharing how she'd be enjoying a takeaway that evening to celebrate Rex's birthday, as well as her mum's special day, Stacey beamed.

"I found out this morning that Sort Your Life Out is nominated for an NTA [National Television Award]," she revealed while doing a little happy dance. "I've never been nominated personally for a show I've done for an NTA."

"This is the coolest thing ever," she went on. "I honestly can't believe it. We're only on the long list so I'm going to put a link on here and if any of you fancy voting for Sort Your Life Out we might get on the shortlist which will be so cool.

"But thank you anyway for just supporting the show because we wouldn't even be on the long list if you didn't support the show. I love you so much for that and I'm so grateful."

Later, Stacey was on the verge of tears as she marked her youngest son turning four with a collection of gorgeous snaps of herself and her husband Joe Swash with the birthday boy. The presenter shared a collection of sweet pictures on Instagram of Rex now with his proud mum and dad and of the doting mum cradling him on the day he was born.

The former X Factor finalist marvelled at just how fast the time had flown and how big Rex has grown. But she clapped back, after already hitting back earlier this week after being 'shamed', as she said people have brought her to the verge of tears with video messages on the subject after she said it was his 'last baby birthday.'

The mother-of-five wrote in a heartfelt message to her son: "Four whole years of you Rex HAPPY BIRTHDAY PICKLE. Wow that has flown faster than we could have ever imagined. I can not believe how big you’ve gotten especially in this last year.

"Next stop big school. What a kind, happy, caring, special young man you’re growing up to be. Mummy & Daddy are so proud of you Rexy. Too the moon and back always!" But Stacey added: "P.S if I see one more video of people telling me you only have little kids for four years I’m going to cry . It’s not true they’ll be your baby forever and you’re doing amazing."
