Stacey Solomon sends 'weird' voice note to David Beckham that she instantly 'regrets'

Stacey Solomon sent a “loser-ish” voice note to David Beckham about his beekeeping hobby that she feared would get her “blacklisted”.

The football legend, 50, got a beehive at his £12 million Cotswold mansion in 2020 after discovering a passion for beekeeping during lockdown and has gone on to release his own honey-based snack business.

Solomon, 35, has decided to follow in Beckham’s footsteps by getting a hive and cultivating her own range of homemade honey at her Essex mansion, Pickle Cottage.

In the latest episode of her BBC reality show Stacey & Joe on Tuesday, Solomon’s older sister Gemma encouraged her to reach out to Beckham for advice.

The Loose Women panellist was filmed sending a voice message to Beckham on Instagram, starting it off by saying: “Hi David, I'm really embarrassed about messaging you but my sister said I should message you.

“I'm getting a beehive and I know you and Victoria have got bees and they're a big part of your life, so I just wondered if you had any top tips or advice.”

The former X Factor star winced and went on: “I'm already regretting sending you this message because I know you'll never see it, or hear it, and if you do you'll probably think I'm a weirdo.”

After ending the message, she burst out laughing and said: “I hope he never sees that!”

Solomon then turned to her sister, who was on FaceTime, and complained: “I'm going to be blacklisted from all cool things now because I've just sent David Beckham the most loser-ish message.”

She added, “You don't even want me to get bee advice, you just want to go to David Beckham's house,” to which Gemma insisted: “I just want to see his garden!”

Beckham failed to respond to the message - something Solomon’s husband Joe Swash was pleased about.

“Damn right he didn't reply, he better not either,” the former EastEnders actor joked.

“Hands off mate. I don't need David Beckham as competition! It's the last thing I need. I've got dogs, ducks, the last thing I need is David Beckham.”

Beckham regularly shares updates on his beekeeping hobby since installing a series of hives at his Cotswolds estate.

The former Manchester United ace - who has also discovered a passion for gardening - launched BEEUP, a honey-based snack for children in June.

“I’m so excited that @beeupsnacks is finally here. A real passion project for me and something I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while,” the sporting legend wrote on Instagram at the time.

Beckham - who is thought to be feuding with his eldest son Brooklyn - also marked National Honey-Bee Day in August with a carousel of photos and videos showing him in his bee suit and pouring honey into jars.

“Today we celebrate our beeeeeezzz,” he captioned it.

“From owning my first hive at home in 2020, to starting my own honey-based snack business @beeupsnacks I’ve learnt so much about the health benefits of our honey-bees. Happy World Honey-Bee Day.”
