Spurs news: Big £51m boost, Giovani Lo Celso injury update, Vertonghen return, Maddison decision

Tottenham thoughts will be on the upcoming Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

We are more than halfway through the international break now and attention can turn back to the Premier League.

And it's not just the action on the pitch that we're looking at, but what is happening off the pitch too.

The summer transfer window was eventful, and we are soon looking ahead to what could happen in January.

For all that and more, here are the biggest stories from the past 24 hours in the world of Tottenham.

£51m boost

It was a summer of change for Tottenham with 13 players leaving the first team and development squad, not to mention those four summer signings.

A number of players moved on who the club have been looking to get off of the books for some time, and Spurs will certainly have come out the other side the better for their transfer dealings.

But while they're better on the playing side of things, how about the financial side?

Here Alasdair Gold takes a look.

Signs of improvement

It's not been the most majestic of starts to the new Premier League season for Spurs.

They came from behind to beat Aston Villa before then picking up a creditable draw away at Manchester City, having been comfortably outplayed for 90 minutes.

Then came the big disappointment - defeat at home to Newcastle - before a draw in the North London Derby at the Emirates.

But there are signs of improvement to give the fans and the team hope for after the international break.

Read all about that here.

Lo Celso injury

Giovani Lo Celso has been eased into life as a Premier League midfielder for Tottenham.

The Argentinian has showed a couple of glimpses of what he can do during the short time he has been on the pitch so far this season.

And the Tottenham fans will be looking forward to seeing more of him in action.

But they may have to wait.

The 23-year-old picked up a knock in training with the Argentina senior side during the international break.

Here's what we know.

James Maddison decision

Tottenham have been linked with a move for James Maddison before.

The England international has worked his way up through the leagues and enjoyed a fine first year in the Premier League with Leicester last season.

The midfield man has been tipped to move on, with not only Spurs, but Manchester United also credited with an interest.

And Maddison has been talking about his future.

Here's what he has said.
