Spring scorcher on the cards as Ayrshire set to be hotter than Athens

Ayrshire will be sun-kissed today – and hotter than the Greek capital Athens.

According to the Met Office, the region looks set to enjoy a gorgeous day with a high of 17 degrees in parts which will be warmer than Greece's capital city.

The welcome change in weather will reach a high point of 16 degrees at 1pm today in North Ayrshire and 17 degrees at 2pm today in- both East and South Ayrshire.

Meanwhile, in Athens, the locals there can expect to endure a rainy day with a high of only eight degrees.

However, folk across Ayrshire should make the most of the warmer temperatures.

For the rest of this week, residents can expect cloudy days with cooler temperatures of between 12 and 13 degrees.
