SpiceJet Boeing 737 Returns to Delhi After Mid-Air Technical Snag

The Boeing 737, operating as flight SG121 from Delhi to Leh, had approximately 150 passengers on board at the time of the incident. The aircraft departed from Delhi at 6:08 am but developed a technical snag soon after becoming airborne.

Following standard safety procedures, the pilot issued a Mayday call to air traffic control after detecting the issue. In response, Delhi Airport authorities immediately initiated full emergency preparedness measures to ensure a safe return and landing of the aircraft.

The flight safely touched down back in Delhi at 6:49 am, less than an hour after departure. Airport emergency teams remained on standby as a precaution, in line with established aviation safety protocols.

In an official statement, a spokesperson for SpiceJet confirmed the incident, saying, “A SpiceJet flight operating from Delhi to Leh on February 24 returned to Delhi after experiencing a technical issue. The aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers were disembarked normally.”

No injuries were reported, and passengers were safely escorted off the aircraft following the landing. Further details regarding the nature of the technical fault are awaited.
