Spice Girls 'planning world tour' as Victoria Beckham plots 'special way of taking part'

The Spice Girls are reportedly planning to reunite for a world tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their hit single, Wannabe.

Geri Horner is back in touch with artist manager Simon Fuller and the pair are set to meet up in Miami later this week to work out a deal, according to The Sun.

Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C are all reportedly considering doing a global tour in 2026 - although Victoria Beckham is set to be “90 per cent out of the running”.

“There have been rumours swirling for months, but Geri has always been too busy and had other things on, preventing her from saying yes,” an insider told the outlet.

“Nothing is yet confirmed but Geri and Simon are back in touch with a myriad of exciting ideas.”

The source added that Beckham would like to take part by appearing as an avatar onstage or making a “one-off” cameo during a concert.

“Unfortunately Victoria has pretty much ruled herself out, but there is still a world in which she could do some sort of avatar appearance or a special one-off thing,” they said. “She would always want to honour the girls’ history.”

The Standard has contacted the group’s representative for comment.

The band last reunited in 2019 without Beckham, selling out 13 stadium tours in the UK and Ireland and reportedly earning £4.4 million each.

Beckham did, however, join her fellow singers for a one-off performance at the London 2012 summer Olympics closing ceremony.

The fivesome also reunited for the Return of the Spice Girls Tour in 2007, a 47-show stint that ran from December 2007 to February 2008.

The beloved pop group formed in 1994, storming the charts with hits like Wannabe, 2 Become 1, Goodbye, and Spice Up Your Life.

They scored nine number ones between 1996 and 2000, including six number one tracks in a row.

Horner - known as Ginger Spice - left the group in 1998 citing exhaustion and the band announced their were splitting two years after her departure.

Mel C recently hinted at plans for a reunion next year, telling Australia’s 2Day FM last month: “We have to do something special.

“Obviously I can’t say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour!”

Meanwhile, Horner told The Sunday Times that there “will be something coming” in the future for the girl group.

“We love each other. I love them, I care about them, and we want the best for each other. We shared something so monumental. We’ve always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful,” she said.

“My hope is we come back together as a collective. It’s more respectful to come as one, so we’ll come as one.”
