The magic is all in the detail of a new special edition Forest jacket designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the club's glorious first European Cup final win.
Made by Sneinton Market workshop the Art of Football in partnership with Nottingham designer Nathan Thompson, the black sports coat seems simple on the surface but look closer and its dotted with details of that miraculous night back on May 30, 1979.
The 1 – 0 victory for Forest against Malmo has been embroidered on front of the jacket, with the flags of each team’s home nation positioned below (the Union Jack flag being the more popular choice for British fans attending European games at the time).
On the back of the jacket the date and city of the victory has been immortalised in white thread and a retro font.
It is available to buy online for £60 at art-of-football.com and in person at Nottingham Forest’s official 40th anniversary celebration at the City Ground on May 30.
Art of Football announced last week they will be bringing back the popular Sneinton Market fanzone for the summer.
They have joined forces with Great Northern Inns to bring three alfresco screenings of football matches to the square next month.
Up to 480 revellers will have access to the fanzone for each game which will be shown on a four-metre tall LED screen and also include bars and street food.
