After a long journey through the G-League, overseas, and through injuries, Kalin Lucas had a triumphant season, earning a two-way contract between the Detroit Pistons and Grand Rapids Drive. Lucas was rewarded for his excellent season with an All-G League Third Team selection.
Lucas averaged 21.8 points and 5.5 assists-per-game for the Drive this year and shot the lights out. He averaged 43% on his three-pointers this season, which is an achievement at any level of the sport.
He only logged six minutes in one game for the Pistons this year but was included in their playoff roster, which was something of a culmination of a long journey for Lucas. Kalin Lucas was a great college player who was injured in his senior season. He has been on a quest since then to make it back to his former level, and he mostly was able to prove that he could still play at a high level this year, ending with his involvement in a playoff team.
