As tension mounts in France with artist protests around the country against continued closures of cultural spaces and students occupying theatres, Blanca Li speaks to Eve Jackson from Madrid where cultural life continues. Known for her work with film director Pedro Almodóvar, fashion designer Stella McCartney; and, in the land of music, Beyoncé and Daft Punk, the choreographer is the artistic director of the theatre Los Teatros del Canal in Madrid which is hosting the "Canal Connect" festival with the public.
She discusses Spain's view that culture is "essential", how shows can be put on safely and why the arts are vital for our mental health.
