The sun may be shining across much of the UK but with the summer holidays now in sight, many will be gearing up to jet abroad for a much-welcomed getaway after a couple of years of not being able to get out of the country.
Thousands of UK holidaymakers are expected to travel to Spain this summer, and those who do should, therefore, be aware of a few rules.
According to the Liverpool Echo, you could risk a huge fine for lighting a BBQ on the beach as many areas either ban barbecues or require police authorisation beforehand.

While in Salobrena, Granada, for example, fines of up to £2,500 can be imposed for anyone who lights up any type of fire on the beach.
Other laws mean tourists and residents alike can be hit with fines for smoking on beaches, as well as drinking alcohol and using soap or shampoo. And a bizarre law means it is also illegal to partake in a beach visiting pastime - building sandcastles, albeit only in some parts of the country.
In 2016, Benidorm's Town Hall voted to ban sand structures on Levante beach. The Telegraph has previously reported fines of up to 150 euro (around £130) for doing so. Similarly, in the popular areas of Arona and Arica in Tenerife, there’s a law against building large sandcastles on the beach.
While the punishment for breaking the large sandcastle law is unknown, eager sandcastle craftsmen will have to apply for a municipal permit before starting construction. BestTripGallery also reports it is illegal to build sandcastles in parts of Majorca.
