London Bridge delays: Southestern commuters face major disruption after man struck by train at Dartford

Thousands of commuters are facing major delays in and out of London Bridge station this evening after a man was hit by a train.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Dartford station shortly after 4pm on Thursday.

A man suffered serious injuries and has been rushed to hospital.

Southeastern warned all services between London Bridge and Dartford could be cancelled, delayed or revised at short notice.

Disruption was expected for the rest of the day.

A spokesman said: "Following a person being hit by a train, disruption can be expected on all routes between London and Dartford while emergency services attend to the incident as no trains can run from the Woolwich, Bexleyheath or Sidcup Lines towards Dartford or Gravesend."

Thameslink services between London Bridge and Rainham were also suspended.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "At 4.13pm today at Dartford station we were called to a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics attended the scene and a man suffered serious injuries.

"Officers are working to establish the circumstances leading to the incident."

A Southeastern spokesman added: "You will be able to use your tickets at no extra cost on all London bus routes between Lewisham and Dartford, on London Underground between Victoria, Charing Cross, Cannon Street, London Bridge & St Pancras, & DLR between Lewisham, Greenwich, Woolwich and Stratford.

"You can also use Highspeed services between St Pancras and Gravesend at no extra cost, as well as Arriva Fastrack buses between Dartford & Gravesend."
