(Reuters) - Southampton winger Mohamed Elyounoussi is a doubt for Saturday's Premier League game at Everton due to a hamstring problem, manager Mark Hughes said on Thursday.

Norway international Elyounoussi, who joined the club in the close season, struggled with a tight hamstring after making his debut in last weekend's goalless draw with Burnley.

"He trained with the physios and went better than they thought but we will see how he is. Even if he doesn't have a reaction there is a feeling maybe we err on the side of safety but we will see," Hughes told reporters.

Midfielder Stuart Armstrong also picked up a knock and was forced off against Burnley, but Hughes said the Scotland international would feature at Goodison Park.

"We have a 25-man squad and it's there to last the whole season. We'll lose players to injuries and suspensions at times but for the most part everyone is ready to go," Hughes added.

"That's a good thing but you end up disappointing players who haven't done anything wrong but hope to be involved."

Everton are also seeking their first win after starting with a 2-2 draw at promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
