South Africa set to fly to World Cup after visa delay

  • South Africa's World Cup squad departure for the tournament was delayed from Sunday to Monday due to unresolved travel visa issues.

  • SAFA apologised for the disruption, confirming assistance from the South African Foreign Ministry and the US Consulate in Johannesburg to resolve the problems.
  • The team is scheduled to play co-hosts Mexico in the opening game of the World Cup on 11 June in Mexico City.
