Sony Michel delivers an absolutely savage block on Giants pass-rusher

Much is made of the lack of contributions by New England Patriots running back Sony Michel in the passing game. Here’s a considerable contribution.

During the Patriots’ game against the New York Giants in Week 6 at Gillette Stadium, quarterback Tom Brady faked a handoff to Michel, who then delivered a low block on linebacker David Mayo. His legs flew into the air, and he cartwheeled onto his back.

Of course, Michel did also contribute as pass-catcher by lining up wide and nabbing passes out of the backfield from Brady. At the time of publication of this article, Michel had two receptions for 27 yards.

Michel, however, had trouble finding space in the running game, so much so that the Patriots gave running back Brandon Bolden and Brady carries at the goal line for touchdowns. Michel maintained his workload in non-goal line situations.
