Beloved alternative R&B musician Steve Lacy has gone viral for ALL the wrong reasons after he seemingly confirmed a popular fan theory regarding Sadie Sink‘s character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

We’re only days away from the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and so far the cast has been quite good when it comes to spoilers, especially with the extremely mysterious role Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink plays.

Heck, it even got to a point where fans were making compilations of Sadie refusing to answer questions regarding her character and where she fits into Spidey’s universe.
However, the veil hiding all the mystery seemingly came crumbling down after “Bad Habit” singer Steve Lacy — whose song “Oh Yeah?” appears in the movie — accidentally confirmed a hot piece of goss regarding Sink’s character.
Did Steve Lacy reveal Sadie Sink’s character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
In a red carpet interview with streamer Valkyrae at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere, Lacy was asked which character he was most excited to see “without spoiling anything”.
“You know what? Jean. I like Jean,” he said.
Valkyrae visibly looked shocked and pressed her lips before Lacy continued to explain why he said Jean.
“She’s the villain, but there’s a reason to her madness,” he dished before the streamer straight up asked, “Is that a spoiler?”
“I like her. I like her character. I don’t know why.”
And for folks who are not following the Spider-Man: Brand New Day buzz, it’s been speculated since Sadie’s casting that she would be playing Jean Grey.
