Some of Manchester's best restaurants are set to take over a park for a huge food fair

This spring, an assortment of Manchester’s favourite food and drinks names will pitch up in Platt Fields Market Garden in Fallowfield as part of the Spring Food & Drink Fair. All profits from the foodie event will go to Eat Well MCR, the hospitality collective that has provided chef-made meals to people most affected by the pandemic.

Taking place on Sunday May 1, it will celebrate the very best of spring produce as well as Manchester’s strong hospitality community. DJs, tastings, workshops and kids activities will also be on the bill.

Visitors can expect locally brewed beers from Salford brewery Pomona Island, low-intervention wines from Wines Under the Bonnet and Otros Vinos, cocktails and alcohol-free botanicals from Into the Gathering Dusk, and wines and snacks from feminist supper club SuppHER.

Isca, Blackbird Pantry, MUD Kitchen and Umezushi will also be in attendance, keeping visitors topped up throughout the day with their food stalls. For afters, Ginger's Comfort Emporium will be on hand with their much-loved ice creams and desserts.

Artist and sommelier Caroline Dubois and Into the Gathering Dusk will also be hosting workshops and tastings, alongside a Platt Fields Market Garden tasting tour. Rounding off the day, the fair will also feature a special pop-up restaurant from Wildfire, a collaboration courtesy of Samuel Munstermann and Emily-Rose Lucas of Where the Light Gets In, and Joshua Al-Kazhraji and Amber Diggle From Coin Hebden.

Entertainment wise, expect live DJ sets from Living Room Dance Club and the Moder Grooves Collective, while Let’s Get Muddy will be on hand to keep kids entertained with free activities. Tickets are £10 (£5 to concessions and free to under 16s) and you buy your ticket here.

The event will run from 11am-8pm on Sunday May 1.
