An emerging music star is coming to Leeds and she’s offering some support to those who might be struggling with identity.
Sody, who has previously supported Tom Walker on tour, will be playing Scott Hall Mills on Monday, July 15.
Having spent 2018 developing her passion for songwriting and refining her sound and live show, new single The Bully is the culmination of who Sody is both as a young artist and an outspoken, self-expressive songwriter.
The track is refreshingly raw in its own way. Moving lyrics celebrating the beauty of being different are delivered through soothing vocals backed by a delicate piano line. When the beat comes in, the energy heightens, while still maintaining the mellow mood of the track.
Sody said: “I wrote The Bully whilst I was reflecting on how I felt about being bullied at school.
"For my sanity, I needed to try and find the positive in a negative situation to accept what had happened and move on. I found my way to heal in the lyric ‘I’m glad it happened to me and not you’ and I really hope it helps others find their inner strength too.”
Sody, who has 6m Spotify streams to her name, was a Glastonbury favourite when she appeared at Worthy Farm.
