Social Bite have launched a coffee that will help put an end to homelessness

Doing a good deed is now as easy as buying coffee.

Social Bite has partnered with Dear Green - a Glasgow-based coffee roaster credited with pioneering specialty coffee culture in Scotland.

The two organisations are joining forces to create an ethically sourced coffee that will benefit those experiencing homelessness right here in Scotland.

The Dear Green x Social Bite Blend is a delicious blend of Brazilian, Colombian and Rwandan coffee that not only tastes good but also does good.

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of every retail bag of Dear Green x Social Bite Blend coffee will go directly towards Social Bite’s Pay it Forward scheme.

Dear Green will also ‘Pay it Forward’ on all coffees bought in Social Bite cafes from until Sunday 21 July.

All of this will run alongside Social Bite’s daily ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme, in which customers at Social Bite cafés and Vesta Bar and Kitchen can choose to buy a drink or food in advance for someone experiencing homelessness.

Dear Green founder, Lisa Lawson, commented: "We are so happy to be teaming up with Social Bite to spread the love of specialty coffee across all of their sites in Scotland and support them in their goal to end homelessness.

"Their work to create employment opportunities, provide housing and donate food and drink to those in need is inspiring and a cause we are extremely supportive of."

Earlier this year Social Bite launched a new free-food initiative for Edinburgh's homeless that offers daily hot food takeaways to people sleeping rough in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

A-listers Will Smith and Helen Mirren have also signed up to Social Bite's global sleepout that helps raise money for the charity.
