Soccer players tweet prayers for Iker Casillas after reported heart attack

Legendary Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas, 37, was reportedly rushed to the hospital Wednesday after suffering a heart attack during training with Porto FC in Portugal.

Via Goal.com:

“Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas suffered a heart attack on Wednesday morning, Porto have confirmed to Portuguese media. The 37-year-old is recovering in hospital following emergency surgery, says TVI, and is not expected to play again for the club this season.”

Casillas, who is in his fourth season at Porto after 16 years with Real Madrid, helped the Spanish national team win two European championships, and earned the Golden Glove at the 2010 World Cup.

Soccer players and other athletes from around the world wished Casillas well on social media.
