A woman found out her fiancé was cheating on her just five hours after picking up a cake for their five-year anniversary. The worst part? She works with ‘the other woman’ on a regular basis.
In a multiple-part TikTok series with more than 1.3 million views, Leah (@leahharukaa), an ER nurse, explained how she discovered her partner was cheating on a milestone anniversary date.
Leah had gone through the trouble of pre-ordering a cake, wrapping gifts, and preparing for the celebration of their anniversary in September. She mentioned that her fiancé was scheduled for back-to-back 12-hour shifts that weekend, a usual schedule for an ER resident that didn’t raise any red flags. She expected to see him and celebrate later that evening, but that’s when she received some messages that changed everything.
“I was immediately kind of weirded out by that, because I got two messages on two different platforms back to back,” Leah said. “It was from a man who said his wife had been talking to my fiancé for a while.”
Panic set in. She called a friend to come over and didn’t mention anything to her fiancé. But when her fiancé began calling her repeatedly at work—something he almost never did—she eventually answered.
“He kept calling me multiple times, and that’s when I knew,” Leah said. “When I finally answered, the first thing he said was, ‘I [expletive] up.’”
She decided to pack her bags immediately. Leah placed her engagement ring on top of the anniversary cake box, next to a Shutterfly photo book she had made for their five-year milestone. “Front and center,” she said, so he would see it when he came home.
That night, she left to stay with a friend and review the messages she had received from the man who was married to “the other woman.”
Additional signs of cheating
Leah later shared more videos detailing signs of her fiancé’s affair and how intertwined their lives had become, making it all the more heartbreaking.
She explained that she met him in 2019 while working as a new nurse in the ICU, when he was a tech preparing for medical school. “We were like friends and co-workers for almost a year. Over that year, we decided we had feelings for each other,” she said.
When he matched for residency, she moved to be with him. “I left my family, my friends, and followed him for residency. We moved… a little over a year ago,” Leah added. By August 2024, they were engaged, with a wedding set in the near future.
Leah said she and her fiancé kept their engagement private at first, not wanting people in the hospital to know right away. “But our whole lives were intertwined. There’s not a single person that I am friends with that he’s not friends with down here,” she said. “So obviously it is just insane because why would you risk any of this?”
Eventually, she revealed that the other woman worked in the same hospital in an update. “She’s not an ER nurse, but she’s around sometimes,” Leah explained.
Leah clarified in later updates that her fiancé had used everyday routines as a cover for cheating. On Labor Day, she recalled him saying he was going for a run while she stayed home to work on wedding planning. “What I found out is that he went on this run to meet up with her,” Leah said. “He had the audacity to say, ‘Hopefully she doesn’t try to come on this run,’ meaning me.”
According to Leah, her fiancé would message the other woman while sitting next to her. “He sent her a picture of the pool while we were having a pool day. I thought he was posting it to his story, but he was actually sending it to her. Because I mentioned his story, he ended up posting it [on his story] too,” she said.

Full confirmation from the husband
Eventually, Leah fully confirmed the affair when the other woman’s husband shared a screen recording of messages. She said it was more than 15 minutes of nonstop scrolling. “It was him from the start. He was pursuing infidelity from the beginning,” she said.
Even with their lives being nearly inseparable, Leah is choosing to stand her ground. “I still went to work. I’m carrying my head high on my shoulders. I did not do a damn thing wrong,” she said. “I love my job, I love my friends, and I love where I live now. And I’m not going to leave.”
Despite this, she’s still grieving, posting regular updates to her page discussing screenshots from the 15-minute worth of messages that proved the affair happened. She has apparently not contacted her ex-partner since she found out.
