SNP holds both Livingston and Linlithgow and East Falkirk seats

The SNP have swept the board in West Lothian on a triumphant election night.

Hannah Bardell has retained her Livingston seat and Martyn Day will be returned as an MP for Linlithgow and Falkirk East.

Both saw a substantial increase in their majorities.

Hannah Bardell polled 25,617  votes while Martyn Day polled 25,551.

Hannah thanked her opponents and said it had been a "decent and fair debate".

And Martyn said he  wanted to "thank the electorate for putting their faith and trust in me to fight in Scotland's corner.

Behind Ms Bardell in the Livingston constituency was Conservative candidate Damian Timson with 12,182 and Labour's Caitlin Kane with 11,915.

And in Linlithgow and East Falkirk, Charles Kennedy was second with 14,285 votes then Labour's Wendy Milne with 10,517.
