Sneak peek: Take a look inside Irvine's new inflatable playpark as opening day looms

Irvine's first inflatable playpark is finally set for its grand opening later this month.

InflataStation, which is based in the town's South Newmoor Industrial Estate, looks set to open its doors on July 19 – following new government guidelines.

General manager Jack Quirk and his team are hard at work getting the park ready.

And Jack is confident the facility will be a hit with enhanced Covid safety measures put in place.

He told Ayrshire Live: "We're all ready to go. We've got loads of Covid protections in place, we have touchpoints in each area from the reception, cafe, park area and toilets.

"We go above and beyond normal cleaning in these touchpoint areas and have the latest cleaning equipment.

"We have these 'Ghostbuster' type machines that the staff use every two hours spraying down everything with a special cleaning agent that will kill as much of Covid."

Jack said: "We were in talks to set up since April 2020 and then were looking to open in June but it was pushed back again.

"We've had staff employed since April. We're ready to go and we promised our staff full-time hours; even though we're not allowed to open our doors yet, we're still keeping busy.

"We're also in talks with Irvine Clean Up Crew who can help us with litter picks and just keeping ourselves present in the community."

The newest concept in indoor play features loads for little ones, older kids – and adults.

Jack explained: "We have a climbing wall which is great for all ages because it's really hard.

"We've got bounce pillows which give you a lot of height when the air gets into it.

"A ninja wall with three different heights, which you try and run up.

"Then we have a jelly mountain, slides, basketball hoop zones and a five-lane assault course which we all tried out for team building and we were exhausted!

"We have a tots-only zone which is for ages four and under to keep the little ones engaged.

"And with the tot zones, the adult goes on free with so it's nice for mums and dads to play with them too."

The inflatables park has loads of attractions (Irvine Herald)

Jack added: "The main draw of setting up in Ayrshire is there really isn't anything like this for young people to do.

"There's no trampoline parks or indoor parks for all ages. Once you've hit about six, and are too old for soft plays, there's not much left for you to do so we're just trying to provide a fun activity for older kids."

The park intends to host club nights on Fridays between 6pm and 8pm for kids, with socks included, and then adult-only nights with a club feel on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 6pm.
