Snake escape: 'Hard to miss' 7ft pet boa constrictor missing in Lanarkshire

A pet snake over seven foot long is on the loose in North Lanarkshire, with its owners urgently appealing for info to help trace it.

The huge boa constrictor managed to escape her vivarium and could have escaped the Newarthill home out of an open window.

The owners hope the snake remains somewhere in the house, however they shared an appeal on Facebook in their bid to bring the pet, described as 'very gentle', back to safety.

A post shared by Kayla Strachan on Tuesday said: "Hating the fact I'm having to post this, but one of our boas have managed to get out of her viv and the room window has been open we've hunted high and low and can't find her she isn't hard to miss as she's around 7-8ft.

"We're hoping she's just found an amazing hiding place in the house.

"Just to add she's so gentle and has never but any of us I know I'm putting the fear of God into half of Newarthill with this post.

"I'm so sorry please share."

Anyone with information is encouraged to message Kayla over Facebook or via the number posted on the Facebook page here.
