What’s Going To Happen
SMU will keep it all going with yet another great day from Shane Buechele.
The Mustang offense will move the ball far better and far more efficiently than the USF attack that can’t do anything on third downs. The Bulls might be fantastic at coming up with takeaways, and they can generate a decent enough pass rush to bother Buechele a little bit, but the SMU offensive line is good enough to win its share of battles.
SMU is fantastic at generating pressure on a consistent basis, too. Freshman Jordan McCloud can move, and he looked great against South Carolina State, but he’s going to deal with Mustangs in his face all game long.
USF’s offensive line isn’t nearly as strong as SMU’s at protecting the passer, and that’s why the visitors will dominate for long stretches by keeping the chains moving. Buechele will throw two picks to keep the Mustangs from running away with this, but he’ll be fine when he needs to be.
