Smarties fans rejoice over 'amazing' new flavour of chocolate confectionary

Nestlé have announced a new flavour of Smarties and fans of the chocolate confectionary have rushed to share their thoughts on the new product.

The manufacturer has revealed that white chocolate flavour Smarties will soon be available to buy in UK supermarkets.

The white chocolate edition of the treat is already available in some EU countries, but it won't be long before we're able to pick them up and see what the fuss is all about.

One Smarties fan shared news of the new product on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

They wrote: "New White Chocolate Smarties coming soon to supermarkets!"

Before long, the post had amassed over 2,600 likes and nearly 3,000 comments — indicating that interest in the product is high.

One user said: "This is amazing!!! I am so happy about this!! White chocolate is the only chocolate can eat so I will be munching away on these!!!!"

"Oh I need to try these," a second shared.

A third echoed: "I need these!"

"These also look lovely," another agreed.

Some members of the group meanwhile claimed they remembered previously being able to purchase white chocolate Smarties.

"I swear these where out many moons ago," one wrote.

A second said: "These are not 'new' they were out 11 years ago and they stopped making them. I craved them whilst pregnant with my daughter and would buy them by the box full ha ha".

"Anyone else old enough to remember them adding a white Smartie as a winter limited edition mix," questioned a third.

A fourth claimed: "Loved these when they were sold before and they just disappeared".

However, not everyone in the Facebook group was keen on the idea of white chocolate Smarties.

"And taste rubbish," one posted.

A second commented: "Dark chocolate would be better".

"Dark chocolate and we would be talking," agreed a third.
