Smart is a mysterious detective book, although it’s not like most detective books you have probably read. Imagine this: the President of the United States of America has just died! What would you be thinking? What would happen? First everybody in America would start talking about it and then it would end up on the news and eventually the whole world would know.
Now imagine this, a homeless man, with no known family, has died. What would everyone do about that? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And why? Well this is basically what the book is trying to convey, but does everybody just do nothing?
No. One kid, Kieran Woods, does do something. I’m not going to tell you much about Kieran because it will ruin the story but here we go: Kieran isn’t so great at fitting in but he likes mysteries – not just those out in the big world but right in his very own house! I really do hope that you read this book because it’s a very thought-provoking page turner – you will find out what that means when you read it!
