Small earthquake in Kanchanaburi

KANCHANABURI: An earthquake of magnitude 3.2, centred in Sri Sawat district, was recorded by seismologists early on Tuesday morning.

The Meteorological Department reported the quake occured at 4.39am and was centred six kilometres underground, below tambon Khao Jot of Sri Sawat district.

It was about 50 kilometres north of Srinagarind dam and 62km east of the Vajiralongkorn dam. No one felt it.

The Provincial Electricity Authority reported the quake had no impact on the dams.

Previously four quakes were detected near the latest epicentre in July.
