Small business leader 2014: Nazia Nasreen, Ibraheem Toy House

Business name: Ibraheem Toy House
Based: Birmingham
Website: ibraheemtoyhouse.com

Person nominated: Nazia Nasreen

I started my business while I was on my second maternity leave in June 2014. I am the founder of Ibraheem Toy House, the UK’s first online Islamic toy store.

I founded Ibraheem Toy House as I was struggling to make religious learning fun and interactive for my four-year-old daughter Inayah. I decided to launch my own online toy store and help parents find good quality educational Islamic toys and books under one roof.

At Ibraheem Toy House we do not just provide a range of educational toys and books but we also encourage interaction with our customers on a regular basis by writing blogs on parenting and giving parenting tips and advice.

In a short space of time we have won a silver website award from Mumprenuer UK. I was the finalist entrepreneur of the year at the British Muslim Awards and we have been mentioned in many top Muslim mummy blogs and I have also had the opportunity to speak about my business on sisters hour at the British Muslim TV.

I am also a current student at the school for creative startups in London. Nine months ago I never imagined I would be running my own successful business with a young family and working around my children.
