A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a train at Sloane Square Underground Station in London

British Transport Police (BTP) officers removed the man from under the train with the help of staff from the ambulance service.

His injuries are currently being assessed and a BTP spokesperson said that their extent is still unknown.

The accident is not being treated as suspicious.

Footage of police cars and fire engines parked outside Sloane Square station circulated on social media on Tuesday evening.

BTP officers are conducting enquiries to try and find the man's next of kin.
