Slender: The Arrival VR puts you directly into the creepy horror alongside the Slender Man

Slender: The Arrival VR appearing in FGS Live from GDC.

If you've been on the internet in the last 15 years then it's likely that you'll know who the Slender Man is, though it's probably much less likely that you'd want to be chased by him in VR. Still, if you have a strong constitution then you'll be pleased to see the latest trailer during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase, which reveals that Slender: The Arrival VR is coming to PSVR2 and PC VR in May.

This game has a long and storied history going all the way back to 2012, when short first-person survival horror Slender: The Eight Pages (based on the Slender Man creepypasta) was released. That was significantly expanded and commercially remade as Slender: The Arrival the following year, then more recently a 10th anniversary remaster launched for current gen in 2023, and now those who are brave enough can finally experience that world in VR.

You play as Lauren, who goes to help her friend Kate move out of her childhood home but instead discovers she is missing. On investigating the house she finds terrifying messages about the Slender Man scrawled over the walls, some of which you hear Kate's shaky voice deliver during the trailer. In order to progress you'll need to search for clues in unsettling locations, such as an abandoned lakeside campsite in the woods, with just a flashlight to pierce the darkness surrounding you. As you soon discover, you're not alone on this journey – so do you have the skill and the nerves to avoid being captured by the Slender Man?

Start psyching yourself up now, as Slender: The Arrival VR launches on PSVR2, SteamVR, and Meta Quest on May 13, 2025.
