Skylight Rooftop in Wapping to reopen from July 4, with lawn games temporarily suspended

Skylight is planning to welcome Londoners back up on the roof, as it has announced plans to reopen to the public from July 4.

The Wapping venue, known for its panoramic open-air views of the city, will open under new social distancing rules. Guests will be required to reserve tables in advance to enter the venue, with prices starting at £10.

There will also be table service while the distancing measures are in place, as well as a one-way queueing system throughout the venue.

The venue’s signature lawn games will be temporarily suspended to give guests more space for socialising.

“We’ve applied all our creativity to working out ways to keep our customers safe, while still finding ways to have fun in the sun,” says MEL Event Director Scott McVittie.

“We are fortunate to have 12,500 square feet of open air space for our guests to spread out in while enjoying everything they’ve come to love about Skylight.”

While lawn games will be suspended, there’s a new tropical beer terrace for guests to enjoy – serving Corona – as well as in-house options from Asian kitchen Hikari and American food specialists State Side.

After reopening, the venue will be welcoming guests on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from midday to 11pm.
