A masterful batting display by Josh Philippe backed up a dominant team bowling effort has seen the Sydney Sixers to a record-breaking 145-run win over the Melbourne Renegades.
Opener Philippe fell just short of a century, belting 95 off 57, and was helped out by Jordan Silk's unbeaten 45 off 19 as the Sixers scored a whopping 4-205 at Bellerive Oval.
The Renegades tried to swing for the fences from the outset to have a chance of tracking down the massive target, but they could not even come close, bowled out for 60 in the 11th over.
The innings featured four ducks — for Rilee Rossouw, Benny Howell, Josh Lalor and Peter Hatzoglou — and a highest individual score of 13, shared by Shaun Marsh, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Kane Richardson.
It was the second-lowest total the BBL has seen, with a 57 by the Renegades of 2015 the only worse score.
That 2015 game against the Stars was the previous biggest margin of victory by runs in the competition's history — 112 runs — but the Sixers' victory easily eclipsed it.
Ben Dwarshuis did most of the damage with the ball, taking 4-13 in just 16 deliveries, including the wickets of Sam Harper (1) and Rossouw in the third over.
Steve O'Keefe (3-16), Carlos Brathwaite (2-12) and Gurinder Sandhu (1-7) also got in on the action.
