VISAKHAPATNAM: The PM Palem police arrested the prime accused, KV Hemanth Kumar, and five others in connection with the kidnap of realtor Pasi Ramakrishna.
It may be recalled that Ramakrishna was kidnapped by rowdy-sheeter Hemanth and his associates for a ransom of 1 crore on Monday. The victim was rescued by the PM Palem police of Vizag police commissionerate near Vizianagaram. The arrested have been identified as KV Hemanth Kumar (27), Sayyed Rehan (27), K Pavan Raj Kumar (22), P Kiran (19), A Madhusudhan Rao (23) and S Subba Lakshmi (48).
Police said that Ramakrishna is a resident of JV Agraharam, Vizag. Ramakrishna and Hemanth are known to each other. Hemanth hatched a plan to kidnap Ramakrishna to extort money. He approached five others and offered them 50 lakh to carry out his plan. Madhusudhan Rao had arranged his associates for the kidnap.
The owner of the guesthouse alerted the PM Palem police and provided cops the CCTV camera recording. Suspecting that they may be caught, the kidnappers managed to escape while the victim and the driver of the car were found abandoned at an isolated place near Vizag. The police managed to nab the kidnappers and a woman, who is in a relationship with the prime accused.
