A stabbing occurred inside New York City's bustling Penn Station on Sunday evening, resulting in injuries to six individuals, with one person reported to be in serious condition.

Two victims suffered moderate injuries and three others received minor injuries, with all being transported to Bellevue Hospital or Cornell Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities quickly apprehended the alleged attacker and Amtrak Police confirmed an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

The incident took place amidst already heightened security measures in the area, anticipating game three of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, which President Donald Trump is expected to attend.

The New York Knicks have implemented a no-bag policy, TSA-style screening procedures, and canceled planned watch parties, advising fans to arrive at the arena two hours early.
