Six people arrested after Friday night drug raids in Strangeways and Kersal

Six people have been arrested during Friday night drugs raids in Strangeways and Kersal.

Thousands of pounds in cash and more than 7kg of class A and B drugs were also seized.

More than £5,000 and 'some white powder' was recovered when police in Salford executed a warrant on a property off Littleton Road in Kersal.

A 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug and money laundering.

They have both been questioned by detectives and released on bail.

Later that night, GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group arrested four more men in the Strangeways area where a substantial amount of cash and approximately 7kg of suspected class A and B drugs were recovered.

The men – aged between 23 and 41 years old – were questioned and have since been released under investigation.

The raid was part of a SOCG investigation into drug supply in Manchester and Salford.

A total of 12 arrests have been made as part of the operation since its launch earlier this month.
