Six firefighters called to severe Bedminster blaze

Six firefighters from Avon Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to a severe blaze in Bedminster on Friday night (September 3).

The firefighters, from the Bedminster and Temple stations, attended the fire at a flat in the town and had to use breathing apparatus to help get the situation under control.

One occupant of the flat, meanwhile, self-rescued by jumping from a window.

In a Twitter post in the early hours of Saturday, Bedminster Fire Station said: "Another night, another #fire! Flat fire in #Bedminster , 6 firefighters from Bedminster and @AFRSTemple wearing breathing apparatus brought the severe blaze under control. The occupier self-rescued by jumping off a window."

The extent of the damage caused can be seen in the pictures below.
