BHOPAL: Crime branch team once again raided betting racket operator Bhaiya Kachra's betting den in Teela Jamalpura locality and nabbed his six accomplices accepting bets.
Police seized Rs 7400 in cash along with betting records worth lakhs from the spot. Police said that the information on the assets of absconding accused Bhaiya Kachra procured by illegal means. Soon, his property attachment process would begin.
Additional DCP (Crime Branch) Shailendra Singh Chouhan said that police have been conducting regular raids on betting and gambling rackets. Police received information on Friday night that some people were involved in betting activities in Teela Jamalpura area.
Acting on information, a team of crime branch raided the spot and nabbed six accused from two different spots. The accused were identified as Zuber Khan, 27, Suresh Vanshkar, 42, Amar Singh, 32, Nasir Ahmed, 42, Idris Sheikh, 43, and Ravi Lalwani, 32. Police seized cash and betting records from their possession.
The accused revealed that they were operating for Bhaiya Kachra, who is on the run and presently staying out of the city. The accused were running his illegal betting business. Police made Bhaiya Kachra a co-accused in the case, said sources.
Police team had raided Bhaiya Kachra's racket three days back too and arrested three bookies. The accused had revealed they were working on a daily wage of Rs 300 for Bhaiya Kachra.
