Siri Sala hosts Sino-Thai cultural programme

Siri Sala Private Thai Villa presents The Rivers Of Heritage Series, a two-day cultural programme to explore the influence of Chinese migration on Bangkok's history, rituals and social traditions, on the evenings of this Friday and Saturday.

Set along the quiet canals of Bangkok Noi, the two-day experience invites guests to trace the cultural threads connecting Chinese communities and the Chao Phraya River.

The journey begins with check-in at Siri Sala before departing by boat for a Chinese heritage river tour, visiting the historic Chow Sue Kong shrine, where generations of Chinese migrants established places of worship, followed by a walk through the historic Chinese community of Talat Noi.

Back at the villa, the evening continues with pre-dinner drinks and a Mahjong 101 introductory class in collaboration with Mahjong Palace NYC, a cultural collective recently featured in Financial Times and The New York Times. Founder Subhas Kandasamy will personally lead the evening mahjong social sessions. This collaboration marks their debut in Thailand.

The overnight stay concludes the next morning with breakfast and a Thai herbal inhaler workshop, highlighting another everyday cultural tradition that has been influenced by Chinese migration.

The cultural programme marks a new chapter for Siri Sala following its recent affiliation with Small Luxury Hotels of the World and the opening of the riverside house for individual room stays as well as private villa buyouts.

Siri Sala is located on Charan Sanitwong 34. Guests may participate in two ways. Overnight experience is priced at 25,000 baht per room inclusive of the stay, river tour, dinner, breakfast and activities (limited to five rooms). The fee for the evening only is 5,000 baht including drinks, dinner and the mahjong social (limited to 10 seats).

For reservations, visit sirisala.com/sino-siam, call 098-608-1999 or email sawasdee@sirisala.com.
