Former footballer Sir David Beckham has said he is “very proud” of his son Cruz’s music career.

The 21-year-old singer has followed in the footsteps of his mother, Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, and has pursued a career in music as the frontman of Cruz Beckham And The Breakers.

Appearing on talkSPORT Drive with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, Sir David has said he thinks his youngest son’s band is doing “incredibly well”.

The former Manchester United player, 50, said: “Cruz has been working on his music since he was about eight or nine years old.

“And he’s all of a sudden got a band together. He’s released an album. It’s Cruz Beckham And The Breakers. They’re doing incredibly well. They’re traveling around the UK.

“They were in Bristol. They were in Brighton. They were in Birmingham. They were in Paris, Amsterdam.

“So they’re going around Europe and now they’re back in London for three shows, and he’s performing tonight. I’m very proud of him because he’s worked really hard. So good stuff.”

Cruz Beckham And The Breakers are currently on the final leg of their first UK and EU tour, and have a busy summer scheduled which will see them embark on a tour across the US.

The indie band are also due to appear at a number of music festivals across the UK later this year including Reading and Leeds and the Rock N Roll Circus.

His parents, nicknamed Posh and Becks, have attended gigs throughout the tour and in a post on Instagram earlier this month, his father praised him for “following the family traditions of playing in Manchester”.

Sir David and Lady Beckham, known to fans as Posh Spice, were also pictured at Cruz Beckham And The Breaker’s sold-out show in east London on Tuesday.
