'Single life is good' - Maya Jama opens up about love life on Jonathan Ross Show after Stormzy split

Bristol beauty Maya Jama told the Jonathan Ross show she was not 'prowling' or on any dating apps following her split with Stormzy.

The Radio One presenter had been dating the grime artist for four years, but they parted ways in what .

A few weeks ago she was linked to Jamie Redknapp when they were spotted filming A League Of Their Own in Germany.

She left the south west London home they shared together in August and has now bought a home of her own.

But now she's revealed she's happy being single.

'Single life is good. I’m just working'

Speaking to Jonathan Ross on Saturday, the 25-year-old said: “I’m not on the hunt. I’m not on any apps, basically. No, I’m not prowling.”

“I’m just living my life. [I’ve just bought my first house] it’s really exciting. I’m trying to make it into MTV Cribs… I want to get a pole from my bedroom down to my front room, that’s part of my plan.

“Single life is good. I’m just working.”

Maya - who went to Cotham School - also told the ITV presenter she has dreams of getting into acting, after being shortlisted for Bristol's TV show Skins.

She said: “They came to my school when I was 15 and they were scouting for Skins and I got to the final one and it was out of me and this other girl out of all of these thousands of kids and I was really convinced that I was going to get it.

“I told everyone, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to be able to see you again because I’m about to be really famous,’ and I didn’t get it.”

She continued: “After that, I said forget acting I’m going to do something that’s really easy like presenting. But now I want to venture out and try. I just got an acting agent and I’m watching films more intently and looking at the facial expressions.”

Speaking to the Evening Standard earlier this month, Maya said: “Breaking up was brutal in the megawatt glare of the 24 /7 news cycle.

‘I used to read magazines when I was little and see all these Hollywood people break up and they didn’t feel like real people.

"And then when you’re in that position, you’re like, oh s**t, it’s very real.

“Everybody just sees it as entertainment.’

"These things never last that long. People find something else to talk about."
