Sinfin Commercial Park acquired by Hortons' Estate

Independent property company Hortons' Estate has acquired an East Midlands commercial park - and says it is planning more deals in the region.

Birmingham-based Hortons has taken over Sinfin Commercial Park, a prominent, multi-let industrial and logistics estate two miles south of Derby city centre and near the Rolls-Royce Sinfin campus.

The 26-acre site includes 21 occupied warehouse, totalling more than 135,000 sq ft, as well as almost eight acres of additional open storage and development land.

Hortons' investment and development portfolio already encompasses more than two million sq ft of industrial, leisure, offices and retail properties throughout the Midlands.

Head of asset management Steve Tommy said the company planned to further expand "by investing in the acquisition of additional high-quality industrial and logistics locations in the region".

He added: "This is an excellent acquisition which builds on our investment strategy of obtaining income-generating industrial sites with significant development potential.

"Sinfin Commercial Park benefits from a good mix of modern and flexible units with established occupiers and presents the opportunity to add value through letting or developing vacant plots of land."

The value of the deal has not been disclosed but is understood to be worth several million pounds. Hortons' Estate was advised by Acre Capital Real Estate.
