Simon Jordan's latest Mike Ashley claim with no new Newcastle United takeover talk

Mike Ashley isn't a difficult man to deal with - despite the lack of any Newcastle United takeover progress.

That's according to former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan.

Newcastle fans have seen rumours of takeovers at the club come and go with alarming regularity in recent years, but as yet no one has been able to match Ashley's asking price for the club.

He is believed to be looking for a figure in the region of £300-350m to buy the Magpies, but despite reported interest from the likes of Amanda Staveley and Peter Kenyon, no deal has ever progressed beyond initial stages.

However, according to Jordan, that's not because Ashley is hard to do business with.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said: “Despite protestations, Mike Ashley isn’t that difficult to deal with. You can’t have your way with him, though.

“I know Newcastle fans will be up in arms, lynch him, burn him, Mike Ashley is the devil in incarnate, he’s Keyser Soze, but commercially he isn’t that brutal to deal with.”
