Silent Hill f's The Legend of the Sacred Sword is exclusive to Ebisugaoka, a cryptic puzzle that you'll slowly but surely solve as you traverse across this fog-coated town. Your hunt for the useful Sacred Sword begins in NG+, where you must keep your head on a constant swivel—not for monsters—but for those mystifying Jizo statues.
Five statues, five offerings, and a ginormous Divine Tree to find, here is how to get the Sacred Sword required for two Silent Hill f endings.

How to get the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f

Locate the Divine Tree south of Shu's home and west of a shrine (specifically when the objective is "Head to Shu's house"). You can find the shrine following the Gate Key and Fog Monster shenanigans in the nearby forest. You should have already learned about the Sacred Sword if you found the Divine Tree in your first playthrough. Locating the tree will mark it on the map, which you should refer to when you've found the five Jizo statues and given each element an offering.
Returning to the Divine Tree after ticking off the final statue when the objective reads "Make your way down the mountain and head to the Shimizu residence" will reward you with a cutscene and the glorious Sacred Sword. While its durability cannot run out, the sword's strength can be buffed and replenished by using any other weapon. The Sacred Sword is a must-have for the final boss fight. You will need Toolkits to retore its durability if you purify the sword (a step you must do for two endings).
Where to find all five Silent Hill f Jizo statues
You don't need the Research Photos to find the statues, but be sure to interact with every Jizo statue so you can collect their corresponding offering. However, if you want to pick up every piece of juicy lore, then you need to find the Research Photo, the corresponding Jizo statue, and place the offering. This updates both the map and Hinako's journal every time you find something related to the Sacred Sword puzzle.
Here's where to find each Jizo statue, shown chronologically.
Earth
Objective: "Head to Chizuruya General Store."
Statue location

When you're heading down from Shimizu residence at the start of the game, look out for a red postal box, as the first Jizo statue is nearby.
Offering location

Find the first Research Journal Photo inside the empty residence with the open front door (parallel to Shimizu house). Next, search for the four treasure boxes left around the house, as they lead directly to the Faded Bride Doll in the airing cupboard downstairs. You need the Treasure Chest Key from upstairs, found in the room unlocked with the Balcony Key.
Water
Objective: "Head to Rinko's house."
Statue location

On the way to Rinko's house, head to the northmost path of the farm fields after meeting up with Shu. The path splits into two, leading further north and to the north-east. Take the north-east route and immediately turn left onto an elevated area to find the statue.
Offering location

Head back onto the path where it splits into two and hike north, in the opposite direction from where you first wandered in from. Find the offering on the right-hand side of Sakuko's family shrine.
Wood
Objective: "Head to the mountain behind Ebisugaoka Middle School."
Statue location

This Research Journal Photo is in the last section of the residential area, right before you make it to Ebisugaoka Middle School. The statue in question is just south of the save station shrine, in the opposite direction from the school.
Offering location

The offering is at the damaged bridge, where you can see Shu and Rinko across the gap opposite you. As you approach the offering, Hinako talks about how this used to be a hangout spot when she was younger.
Fire
Objective: "Head to Shu's house."
Statue location

The next Jiko statue is tucked away on the path leading directly to Shu's house. You can find the fourth Research Photo to the left of the Divine Tree. This, paired with the current objective on-screen reading "Head to Shu's house" makes it an easy statue to find, as it's on the path between his house and the shrine nearest the Divine Tree. The statue is on a short adjacent path with a wooden gate at the end of it.
Offering location

This offering is behind Shu's house, and to the right of the shed-like building with the Otherworld flower blossoming atop the roof. Check the small building for lore regarding the red and white pills and to read an important letter from Shu.
Metal
Objective: "Make your way down the mountain and head to the Shimizu residence."
Statue location

Explore the area surrounding Shu's house before you return to the center of town, as the final Jizo statue is located above a stairwell, behind a residential home. Use the sparingly placed lampposts to guide you as one is very close to the statue's location.
Offering location

Opposite the Jizo statue spawn and at the back of another residential building is Hinako's father's knife embedded into a tree. This is the last offering in Silent Hill f.
You should now return to the Divine Tree. Head in the opposite direction of where the objective wants you to go, running past Shu's house and two shrines along the way. Monsters will spawn in. Defeat them and keep moving. Prove yourself to unlock the Sacred Sword. You're now one step closer to achieving a new ending, where your Sacred Sword progress will transfer over to new playthroughs.
