Feb. 05--There must be something special about Tortoise Club's decor or layout because NBC's "Chicago P.D." recently became the second TV show to film at the Near North neighborhood restaurant in three months. Here's that celebrity sighting and a few more from around the Chicago area:
- Jon Seda filmed "Chicago P.D." Jan. 29 at Tortoise Club. As I mentioned on Twitter, the episode is scheduled to air Feb. 25 and use the Tortoise Club name -- not a fake one. Terrence Howard filmed Fox's "Empire" at Tortoise Club in November.
- Fellow "Chicago P.D." star Marina Squerciati attended the private grand opening party for Good Stuff Eatery Jan. 27.
- Comedians Shawn and Marlon Wayans had dinner Thursday at Mastro's Steakhouse.
- Singer Sam Smith and his band dined Jan. 23 at Chicago Cut Steakhouse.
- R star R. Kelly shopped Jan. 20 at Candyality at The Shops at North Bridge.
- Chance the Rapper and actress and singer/actress Christina Milian appeared at the Get Schooled, Get Connected celebration for CPS high school students Jan. 19 at Malcolm X College. Milian was spotted Jan. 26 at Sunda.
- Brian Dennehy ("Tommy Boy") and Mario Van Peebles ("New Jack City") dined, separately, Jan. 17 at Gibson's Bar Steakhouse-Chicago.
- Kevin Nealon ("Weeds") dined Friday at RPM Steak.
- Malik Yoba ("Empire") had lunch Jan. 28 at Beatrix.
