Sick thugs throw glass bottles into dog home leaving glass in feeding bowls

Sick thugs have been blasted after throwing glass booze bottles over the wall of a Scots animal charity.

Staff at Mrs Murray's home for stray dogs and cats in Aberdeen were shocked to find smashed glass scattered around the exercise yard for the dogs.

They found pieces of glass strewn across the ground and even in the feeding bowls for the animals.

The drinkers had lobbed the bottles over a high wall into the exercise yard after finishing - potentially causing serious injuries.

Luckily workers were up early enough to pick up the pieces before the dogs were seriously injured.

A post from the charity said staff were already struggling with coronavirus restrictions, and now have more work to deal with.

It read: "Thank you to the stupid people who thought it was a great idea to throw empty glass bottles over the wall into our exercise runs during the night.

"Thankfully the staff found it before dogs were let out this morning. It's everywhere!

"Not to contend with the ongoing covid-19 restrictions our hard working staff now have your thoughtlessness to clean up!"

A video of the aftermath of the attack has now been put on Facebook - drawing angry reactions from locals.

One wrote: "Appalling, what kind of person does this?! I despair of my fellow humans sometimes  . Thank goodness you spotted this and cleared it up before it could cause any harm. The poor dogs have been through enough, without being injured unecessarily.

'We are all having to deal with exceptionally difficult times due to COVID-19 and this just adds to the difficulties.

"The work you are all doing, looking after creatures in need of love, care and support, is so appreciated and restores my faith in humanity."

Another added: "That is terrible poor dogs have they no consideration for other people’s property or animals.

"How would they like glass in their bed?"

Local councillor Alex McLellan said: "These actions are down right stupid and could have caused serious injury to the cats or dogs.

"I would urge anyone will any knowledge of the matter to get in touch with Police Scotland."
