As Florida's "Alligator Alcatraz" garners national attention, far-right activist Laura Loomer fueled controversy with her suggestion that immigrants will become food for alligators.
"Alligator lives matter," Loomer posted Monday on X. "The good news is, alligators are guaranteed at least 65 million meals if we get started now."
Who are the 65 million you are talking about? That’s approximately a fifth of the U.S. population, 1 in every 5 people.

Critics blasted Loomer's comments as openly genocidal, accusing her of advocating mass murder.

"How do you find so much pleasure in the idea of feeding PEOPLE to alligators just because they aren't citizens?" asked one commenter.
Others went further, calling Loomer a "psychopath," a "Nazi," and "a stain on humanity."
real talk this is disturbing. not very pro life of you.

"Bigots like Laura Loomer are truly the lowest form of life on the planet," one user wrote, while another added, "I'm not even confident the Nazis would publicly admit that they want to feed the entire Latino population in the US to alligators."
You are nothing but a 21st century Nazi, and my Hispanic friends are your Jews. Go to hell.

The backlash follows Loomer's vocal support for Donald Trump's controversial proposal to build "Alligator Alcatraz," a detention center holding 5,000 beds for undocumented migrants. The site is deep in the Florida Everglades, surrounded by alligators and pythons.
Trump visited the site on Tuesday and joked that migrants could be taught "how to run away" from the reptiles.
Loomer's remark appeared to go even further, referencing a population figure close to the entire U.S. Hispanic community—sparking fears she was suggesting ethnic cleansing rather than simply targeting undocumented immigrants.

According to the 2023 U.S. Census Bureau, the Hispanic population is 66.35 million, while the Office of Homeland Security Statistics estimated 11 million undocumented migrants to be living in the U.S. as of 2022.
One user pointed out the inconsistency, seeming to believe Loomer's error was intentional, "The entire Latino population in the U.S. is 65 million. She means all of us." The Trump loyalist responded, inaccurately stating, "There are 65 million ILLEGAL ALIENS in the United States. Nice try though."
"Cold hearted gets you nowhere good," one user wrote. "Sick. Disgusting. Period."
